Bettye LaVette

What a shame that she has had to wait so long for recognition of her talent. Last night's show at the Jazz Cafe in Camden was up there with the best. Bettye describes herself as an interpreter not a singer, but I would say she was both. The size of the venue allows you to see her up close which really adds to the experience. She is nearly 70 now, so I would say if you get the chance to see her, go for it. You won't be disappointed.
