Thomas Gold broke out onto the music scene in 2006, quickly becoming one of the most well-recognised names in dance music. He initially made releases for Toolroom Records, Phazing, Spinnin’ Records and Size Records, also working together with Fatboy Slim, Dirty South and Alex Kenji , helping to raise his profile in dance music. His breakthrough hit came through a remix of Adele’s track “Set Fire to Rain,” which swiftly gained over 15 million views on YouTube. He has also lent his hands to re-workings of songs by Lady Gaga, One Republic and Miike Snow, helping to make the soundtrack of clubs worldwide.
In 2012, he signed with Swedish House Mafia’s Axwell’s label, Axtone Recordings, immediately gaining a number one hit with “Sing2Me,” topping Beatport’s charts, gaining the respect of the biggest names in dance music with his house anthem. His signature melodic production style with infectious cascading crescendos again found another hit with “Remember,” which featured the vocals of Australian Kaelyn Behr. Gold then embarked upon his ‘Remember the Light Tour,’ in support of these releases.
Gold has played around the world, appearing at some of the biggest music festivals, including Ultra Music Festival, Coachella, Tomorrowland and Electric Daisy Carnival. His live performance also includes live drums and brass, making his set stand out from the many other DJs on tour. He also gained a residency slot at Light Las Vegas, as well as being responsible for the soundtrack to the Cirque du Soleil show.

The enthusiasm that Thomas Gold commands the stage with from behind his DJ desk was enough to have every single person in the crowd at Tomorrowland jumping up and down for the entire two hours of his daytime set. The German DJ and producer puts his own spin on progressive house and techno, through his use of sampling of popular music, and also employing artists to sing vocals on his tracks.
He opened the show with an epic overture, a new mix that I’d not heard before, building up to a huge drop before launching into Eyes Wide Open, which had everyone completely immersed in his set. It’s difficult for a DJ to give what would be conventional of a performance, because of their position behind the desk, but when ever Gold wasn’t scratching the decks, or mixing his music, he had his arms in the air, hyping up the audience and encouraging everyone to maintain the energy, which worked really well.
His sampling and remixing of Ellie Goulding went down wonderfully, and had everyone going crazy for the drop. The dancing didn’t stop from start to finish, and he played a real crowd pleasing show.
