Kate Miller-Heidke

I first heard Kate Miller-Heidke when she was the lead singer with the band Elsewhere and I was disappointed when the brand broke up, but I was happy to learn that Kate had become a solo artist.

She has a voice that amazes as she reaches the high notes and to see and hear that live is a treat. She is an alternative pop musician but if you listen closely to some of her songs you can hear a bit of her classical training within the music and lyrics.

I was lucky to see Kate live shortly after the release of her album, "Nightflight". I had not been able to purchase the album prior to the performance but I did the very next day and then I played the album all day and night for a couple of weeks!

"Nightflight", so far is my favorite of her collective works, and I am so happy I was able to see her perform most of the songs live.

When Kate sings live her voice takes your breath away she is talented and beautiful. Her song lyrics make me feel that raw emotion that we sometimes need to feel at times to help us through the bad times, especially the emotions I feel while listening to her single, “Last Day on Earth”.

Saw her at the Palais in St Kilda last month - amazing!

First time seeing her live and we'll be lining up for tickets when she tours again. I've never seen anyone play instruments the way the band does - and it just jells!

Kate is one of our Aussie treasures. Keir is an amazing musician too!
