Death metal is always exciting to watch live. The performance is half of the attraction of the genre to me, and to see Vader come out on stage in their leather waistcoats, studded belts, and long greased up hair is just the beginning of an exciting death metal show. Although the band have been through several line-up changes since their formation in the late 80s, their sound and performance is just as great as is it was the original band.
Their lyrics can sometimes be difficult to understand on the recordings simply due to the style of singing, but seeing their songs performed live enabled me to gain a better understanding of the religious and political narratives of their songs through their facial expressions and body language. Pitor Wiwczarek, the singer, seemed to have much better diction in a live performance.
They opened the show with the title track from their new album, Tibi Et Igni, and everyone was singing and dancing away right from the start. As soon as they started each song, the audience were going crazy, jumping into each other, and having a great time. The instrumental solos that all of the band members gave were incredible, from the intense shredding of the guitars, to epic drum solos. They played a great selection of their tracks from over the years, and have a great varied show.
Unbelievable show, I've seen Vader now7 time's in Seattle and they put on a awesome show every time and this time at club sur was my first time and I will go too many more shows at this venue because the staff was great and we had a table that sit 6 people and it was my daughter's birthday that day who I brought with me to the show and my son in law and we all had a excellent time.
Abysmal Dawn opened and got the crowd moving. I was impressed with the turnout for Vader. The venue was full and the pit was active for the whole set. Glad these guys are still at it.
Ave! What can I say or write..!? Already seen them plenty of times and I hope in the future plenty more! ;) There is only one and only VADER...for me...They are 'LEGENDS'! \m/
