The Mountain Song is one of my favourite tracks, and to hear Ryland Baxter open the show with an acoustic version of the song was awesome. He immediately got everyone singing along to his indie country music, and as he sang ‘down the mountains and the valleys like the breeze’, everyone had their hands in the air appreciatively. I’ve listened to the albums over and over again, but hearing his raw voice echo through the auditorium in a live setting, it was even more natural and grounding than I’d ever heard.
His guitar playing was also incredibly, and watching his fingers dance across the frets whilst he sang beautiful harmonies with his violinist was a true demonstration of talent. Baxter interacted really well with his band (a violinist and electric guitarist), and when he launched into sections of improvisation they were right with him playing along in perfect time.
He played a great selection of tracks from the old to the new, and even took requests from the audience. Ryland is a great performer as well as musician, and his ability to captivate an entire audience for nearly 2 hours was incredible.
I'd like to start off with, Thank You Sir for sharing your exceptional talents, along with those of your friends in the band. Although after your introduction of them I find myself at a loss, I always thought keyboards came with "keys" not cymbals, most basses had four strings not five! Still not sure who the lead singer was!
I had a wonderful peaceful evening surrounded by strangers I felt were old friends of mine. The music you share with the world is a gift that I am happy to bring more of my friends to partake of.
Good fortunes in all you seek of the universe. Thank you again for a beautiful night of blissful music. Look forward to the next share.

RayLand is amazing. He has a tendency to slow songs down and change them up a little but that band loves to jam and you can tell because they all smile the entire time. After the show, he sat on the edge of the stage and just talked to everybody and stayed there until every person who wanted to talk, got to talk. Such a genuine person and an amazing artist. 10/10
Amazing intimate show, Rayland interacted directly with the crowd responding to comments & playing along, because he is from this area it seemed there were a few characters there hassling him which was frustrating but of course not his fault, would have been nice to just have people there for the music & enjoying/appreciating.
Wow, what a show! First, the venue is small so it felt intimate. He is just the most down-to-earth guy. Easy connection with the audience and the band really put their heart into the performance. I loved it! Also, Odessa opened and she is incredible. Everything about the show just felt special.
Rayland Baxter’s performance was incredible. I only wish the set was longer! They played everything I wanted to hear. I’ve been trying to catch one of his shows all summer and this was the perfect way to end my summer. Can’t wait to get to another show!!
The show was great. Rayland as usual mixed it up with the set list and arrangements. He banter with the audience was genuine.
If anyone has the chance to see him....GO!
Great show! He played a long set, and did a solo acoustic set of his more popular songs in the middle to give his band a break. Awesome sound, good vibes.
