It was a fucking shambles, I left during the 3rd song (private hell) it was in fact a public hell
I had waited eargerly for months to see The Vapors and From the Jam.. Tickets said doors open 6pm, we stood in the cold and rain until gone 7pm to be let in, then, a band I've waited all my life to see we're substituted by a basic 4 bar band - female vocalist was invisible in the mix, the harmonica was loud enough to summon dolphins...
What happened next was something I've never witnessed at a gig, and I've seem Slayer etc, but I was surrounded by 50-60 years old, all thinking they were 16 again, all extremely drunk and abusing myself and everyone around them
It was holy unnaceptable and only wish I could sue the venue
As per usual From the Jam never fail to ignite a crowd and have them dangling like puppets singing and bouncing to the high impact tunes made famous over the years. Bruce Foxtons face beams when he surveys the crowd during a rousing rendition of Eton Rifles. I have seen from the jam numerous times and travelled great distances for the pleasure. Russel is passionate about the sings and does perform them to a high standard but always leaves me wishing wishing it was Weller back up there thrashing away. Nevertheless well worth the travel and money and leaves you on a high singing tube station and the likes all the way home. Great night guys cya next time.
The gig was my partners 1st ever and we enjoyed it immensely, I seen Bruce Foxton with both The Jam and Stiff Lityle Fingers and now From The Jam
The boys started off slowly which the audience didn't warm to but once in their groove they rattled off chune after chune. It wasnt pogotastic as the age of the audience would have had the local ambulance service ferrying us all to a&e with broken hips as the
A Bomb was played brilliantly got everyone warmed up was Strange Town and When Your Young
Really enjoyed the venue, group and night and for popping r lasses concert cherry
Dreadful! I've seen the Jam 10 tens including their final concert and From the Jam we're really embaressing. Ultra wooden Bruce Foxton looked his age, but worse was the singer. Silly high pitched voice trying to an impression of Weller. Awful! Drummer wasn't playing The Jam drumming either. Worst of all was the sound, turned up far too high after The Selector and very distorted. Loads walked early as we did. The Selector were however incredible and wiped the floor with the junk that is From the Jam.
Not sure what to expect in the absence of Paul Weller would we be getting a better than average cover band ?
What we got was a first class show with a great mix of hits an absolutely top night, great show, great venue. Bruce Foxton has still got it in spades and Russell Hastings does a stellar job as frontman the absence of Paul Weller a distant memory !
Brilliant set from a brilliant band in a brilliant venue ( Roadmender, Northampton). They are mostly high energy with a couple of acoustic numbers thrown in. Foxton is still a master on the bass and Hastings vocals are as good, possibly better than Wellers on some tracks. I would definitely recommend seeing them.
Another great acoustic set from the boys , all the hits kept rolling out with a good crowd , when you're young ,tube station the night ending on raptures with in the city eton rifles and town called malice if you get a chance to see them go
From The Jam are just superb
Great set list From The Jam but it was too loud and spoilt it several people left before the end because they just couldn't put up with the noise. secret Affair who were on first were fantastic why was the volume so loud when from the jam came on a great evening spoilt!
Brilliant from start to finish played all the hits and more. On stage for nearly a hour and a half . The leadmill was bouncing. If you shut your eyes you could easily think it was Weller on stage. 6th time I've seen them can't wait for the 7th!
considering from the jam didn't turn up in can't actually rate them sorry. we were sold tickets based on 2 bands but only one played and no refund or explanation offered by the venue.
