With an avid interest in R&B, at the age of 16 Aubin-Dionne developed an interest in production as he acquired the use of MPC’s and Ableton as he advanced his skills. Soon Aubin-Dionne would take his show on the road and began DJ’ing at parties and progressing into having a club residency in Montreal as he specialised in remixing R&B and Rap. Starting to make a name for himself, Aubin-Dionne began performing under the moniker Hovatron. During the 90’s there was a prominent dance culture in Montreal, enticed by the electronic artist Tiga who inspired a generation. At the age of 17/18 whilst immersed in this exciting dance culture, Hovatron began experimenting with house music as he incorporated it into his music. In 2010 he released his first single “Let’s Get Wet/Gold Star Radiation” under the moniker and the following year released the EP “Gyspy Trader”.
Later that year, Aubin-Dionne took on the name Jacques Greene as he steered away from the R&B scene and embraced the house world. In the early stages of his career, social media networks such as Myspace played a big part in getting his music out there. Intrigued by the house trends emerging from the UK, Greene adapted his sound releasing the pivotal EP’s “Another Girl” (2010) and “On Your Side” (2012) as he catapulted into the spotlight.
In 2011 Greene started a record label with his friend and manager Joseph Coghill called VASE inspired by their combined love for new music and used it as an outlet to get the music out there including his own.
In a small amount of time, Greene has come out obscurity to become a widely recognised star having worked alongside Azaelia Banks and Jimmy Edgar, supported The XX and played venues across Europe such as: Fabric, Plastic People and Panoramabar and festivals: MUTEK, Sonar and Bloc Weekender.
Jacques Greene is unlike many DJ’s, aside from being shrouded by mystery, his live performances stand out from the rest. Leaving his laptop at home and instead using an assortment of synthesisers, keyboards and drum machines and combining it with intoxicating visual displays, Greene engages with audiences on every level.

You can call me Weston “MEET MCCARTHY” aka Da BgBmbzla … from old mathuz everyone loves a big bamboozler!! And frankly … instead shouting of JJJhimschmit people seem to assume if they catch or recognize me they get to “MEET MCCARTHY” & get in my trap or just a cas hang sesh (which leads to several biz friends and peeps I give a chance chilling while I subconsciously point out how sev pairings are kismet as far as geeked out shared interest as well as coincidental mutually beneficial effortless collabs and mergers of tech/IP/industries that they’d never had looked twice at each other or thought of if they had met some other way… and I don’t do it on purpose or for profit I just am good at the stars aligning and the right friends and peeps I’d like to know joining me for a movie night or dinner..plus you know.. “clap hands here comes Charley.. good time Charlie ..come on join the part¥.. meet McCarthy, here’s chucky ain’t we lucky.. Charlie pays we all get higher!” - FunnyLdy - Babs — “Clap Hands” performed by triple threat Ben Vereen long before I worked with him as a teen rapper before becoming a movie star … which I had planned since 5 but had no stage parents or in… so I made my own way by 13 which is not a brag as it’s much longer as if my parents would have emancipated me I’d have been in the river phoenix group instead of the Justin, Brit, Xtina group.. on to you.. I appreciate the contribution to the 212.. it still cracks my shit up and this is NSFW and not a flirt as I’m widowed recently and that alien/angel is my one true love .. though a few high profile musicians that have barely come out of the closet have tried to tie my shit down as house btxh and I ain’t having that .. but your cameo is adorbs and the three of you appearing in the beginning of the mv/short film really drew me and my biz partner in when we were gonna flip to the next mv and there is the two dancing and then her spittin at you .. then she gets to the 212 a train know what’s up or don’t you in that 212 trust fund raver voice and I was sold… and I actually love that she attacks fellow artists on soshmed as it’s what artists are supposed to do entertain and be bat sheet wild … feel like especially for the recurrence of the ‘20s people have gotten a lil to Marsha Brady in ent and life especially while roam is fellen … tsk tsk live it up before u caged in you yokels your houses and neighborhoods are burgled via the interwebs more numerously than when actual home grown burglars and robbers busted in your burbs doors back in the 80s when you didn’t even lock them… but of course the trafficking of you name them is either oblivious to you by the elite or for you so .. looks like you need new connect 4 … well I don’t handle that racket or tennis rackets… other than that NOW MOVE!! MOVE!! Don’t play the stupid game cuz I’m a dif kind of pro every musac sounds the same you beta step into our world… supersonic paper planes and middle eastern “spices” er some of her fav things rip me of a st ides to pour on the floor .. one last ref.. what we gotta do we move mountains!! Like a prophet anything for you id move move mountains .. we got our aces out.. nnf.. but that sun and moon does dip up and down really nice or at least looks good doing it… sorry wes I know I’m not the brawny jack on the ppr twls but you still love me as I’m a genius and it takes one Wes genius to intrigue and hold a conversation with another Wes genius that is a Ton not a Ley … didn’t mean to get off track , betting you are mildly confused and potentially interested in finding out about the gig and your website didn’t have a contact and I have to alias on insta as .. well I’m a problem solver and think tank in one.. sent here to help stop the imminent demise of the planet by the asteroid carrying life your stupid astrophysicist blew into pieces and stole life seeding material that has been traveling the Universe long before this solar system existed but I suggest they don’t open the sealed pod that carried it back as they won’t notice as it eats through the miles of steel and concrete to overgthrow the surface starting with micro greens and grasses… btw did you know in Naperville IL there is a grassland preserve that has 7 native wild tall grasses that can’t survive without each other and if one dies they all do as well as all other species in the habitat as the 7 wild grasses are a keystone species .. luckily the tribal Americans informed the settlers of this long ago and so it thrives to this day in the richest part where each home has its own airplane hanger and several runways .. Aero Estates is nice but the real gem is across rt 59 huge houses and much nicer jets and copters.. the peeps are … meh.. old money so pretty indignant and like to play with their food which is usually a dif poor upper middle or lower upper class invited over for the week with the aid of a sort of indentured friend (usually one with a scholarship or grant to lose that the elder class are on the board of or just have incriminating evidence usually bluff on them … so they bask in their golden glow nervously as it’s better than their overbearing parents pressuring them into a color coded binder of a life that is too much stress but it gets their end game of proving they are more successful than their child and their future grandchildren as their second goal was to have them never leave home to take care of them in old age… I came from P.W. Wi and am sure was used in several midnight rituals as a baby and possibly on some beta before we left when I was a few yrs old for DG and then made my grade in A-town.. then Chitown then Los Feliz and then Mulholland and Coldwater.. then nomadic up and down the coast from Malibu to fake towns that are military complexes yet somehow we made it in there and stayed for a few weeks before an armed green beret asked how we got there and to leave… we said we’ve been trying to for a few days and you know that tree where the large wolf hangs out is sparking like thermite out of it yet it isn’t catching fire .. just in case it might we thought you should know and could you point us back to the 20 mile one lane road we drove to get in here that had no trees or cover to hide our Lincoln Continental yet signs of air patrol and nothing stopped us… on up to Monterey and Oakland before making our way back to Malibu … … zzzz anyway email me if you see this or I’ll just catch up with ur mngr in a more profesh email requesting your voice or keystrokes via p2p encrypted call or chat
Montreal producer Jacques Greene’s The Look EP was instrumental in developing my taste in melodic techno, opening the door to so, so many artists and subgenres of electronic music. Back then, Greene was a mysterious ‘bedroom producer’ who would pop up every now and again at dingy London clubs or in the early hours at grimy festivals. It was during this time that I first saw him DJ, performing at BLOC Weekend in Minehead, where he did a set heavily geared around The Look EP…to my delight. The title track, in particular, fleshed out minimal techno with sultry, almost RnB melody; a sound that had him initially pegged in the witch-house genre, at least by some. Since then, Greene has broadened his palette, muting the bass and venturing into rhythmical house and slowed garage tones. When I next saw him at Corsica Studios in London, he was much less brooding and much more up-tempo.
More recently, he has started performing with live instrumentation and collaborators, including ethereal singer How To Dress Well – I was lucky to see them perform their track ‘On Your Side’ together at Field Day 2013. Greene has also been touring an AV live show, which included an extremely well-received London performance in a Hackney Church. Was gutted not to be able to make it.
I never got an email with the location! Super disappointed.
The tickets themselves had TBA as the location, not cool. Not sure who dropped the ball but I'd like a refund or re-do. Hope he comes back to LA
