I really enjoyed this show. Not only did Noname sound great (while sick nonetheless), but her band was incredible. The backup singers added tremendous depth to each song, the drummer and bassist both nailed the classic Noname feel, and the pianist and guitarist played with the perfect complimentary touch. If I'm being real, I was a little disappointed that her set was so short. She was on stage from 9:15-10:05 (50 minutes), which isn't the worst thing in the world, but she didn't even play completely through some of her biggest hits (Ditty Bop, Reality Check, Blaxploitation). Overall, I paid 36 dollars for my tickets including fees, so I can't really complain. Highly recommend the show to any fan of Noname's or just of good music!
Saw Noname two years ago in Amsterdam shortly after she released Telefone. She did not disappoint and I loved seeing her in such an intimate venue. I was hesitant about going to her Room 25 show in a larger venue in my hometown mainly because those shows can get rowdy/people sometimes shove each other. The crowd was the right amount of hyped and Noname delivered, unsurprisingly. I also LOVED that she had a live band and background singers, which added so much depth. She was funny and sassy and would stop between songs to roast the audience, LMAO. It's awesome to see her growth these past two years and I feel like each album she puts out is going to be equally as killer (or if not more) than the last.
Interestingly enough I did not see Noname. I was so excited for months to go and see my favorite rapper perform, but unfortunately she was faced with medical issues and couldn’t not make it... completely understandable. I hoped that the Hollywood Bowl understood that some of us purchased tickets specifically to see noname and would refund. They did not. They have a no refund policy, but there are no exceptions except major cancellations. I find that to be unfair and ultimately, money hungry. This is in no way her fault, but the Hollywood Bowls.
Well, that was disappointing. You could tell from the first ten minutes she wasn't feeling the crowd. And she told us so later during the show. The problem is, if you need to ask people to enjoy your music, maybe you're doing something wrong. theMIND played before her and I think most people came to listen to Noname and didn't know him much. Still they seemed to enjoy his music and his performance a lot more than her show. Plus she had a band but wouldn't let them exist onstage. And the sound was bad. Too much of her voice.
She's young.
This show stole my soul. The vibes that the crowd and both Ravyn Lenae and Noname Gypsy gave off were unreal. Also loved how small and intimate the venue was, made you feel super connected. Both incredibly talented musicians vocally, lyrically and spiritually. They are a must see. Definitely one of the best... no 100% the best concert I've ever been to in terms of actually feeling such a deep connection with an artist's music.
This was my second time seeing Noname and it was magnificent! The atmosphere was both filled with excitement and calmness. Noname makes jokes and laughs brightly while speaking truthfully to her audience. Her raps are great live and she even sings sometimes, which she doesn't do much on the album, although she warns the audience in advance to brace their ears. Overall a great 10/10 concert experience.
Such a good show!! Noname/Fatimah was super warm and friendly and really hyped up the crowd. She is such a gifted rapper and lyricist and her backing band is just as talented as well. Props to the fantastic keyboard and bass player who has a beautiful voice as well. If you debating whether to go to a Noname show or not, drop everything and GO!!! You will have the best time.
I really wanted to love this show but the sound engineer was playing the bass and background vocals way too loud. You could barely hear Noname over everything else and it made it really hard to get into the show. Disappointing cause I've loved both of her albums and was really looking forward to seeing her live.
I saw noname in Syd 2018 and it was so amazing, she had energy and flow and interacted with the audience more than any other artist I've seen live, went with my friend who had no idea who she was and doesn't generally like concerts but he said he had a really great time :)
NONAME is beautiful and so down to earth human being. The crowd loved her and cheered for an encore. I’m truly thankful for her to come out of her way to entertain us New Yorkers. Topaz Jone and Jazze Belle were an awesome addition to my high anticipations of the show.
