A huge deal in the 1980's, Hertfordshire goth rockers Fields Of The Nephilim are a cult classic now and still command a strong cult following in the UK. Despite their hiatus for the majority of the 90's, the band seem unified onstage and the theatrics of the heyday still remain as all singers appear =in detailed gothic outfits.
The band have remained fairly elusive in 2014, as they prepare to record a new album yet they have two nights at the Shepherd's Bush Empire planned for December and for any fans of goth rock, this could be an event not to miss. At their show at Blackfield Festival in Germany this summer, fans were treated to performances of classics such as 'Moonchild' and 'For Her Light' which are played with the intensity that comes to be expected from Fields Of Nephilim.
Rounding off the show with the somber, brooding 'Psychonaut' and a majestic ten minute plus long version of 'Last Exit For The Lost' with extended instrumental that left the crowds in awe of the band's talents these years later. For the fans of the gothic, these two December dates are a must see.
The Tivoli, Buckley. 10-09-2021.
This enigmatic band were on excellent form. The smoke and lighting took us away on a magical evening of old favourites with front man Carl looking as pretty as any half Angel. Gavin, Tony, Adam and Lee, respectfully, all mesmerizing in their own unique ways. Opening with Harmonica Man, other songs included Preacher Man, Endemoniada, Dawn Razor, Moon Child, At the Gates of Silent Memory, to name but a few, the Grande Finale performance was excellent; Last Exit For the Lost and my own personal favourite was the fantastic rendition of Mourning Sun. An intimate setting, I shall say we all had a pretty good view and the sound quality (thank you Mr. Mixer) was sublime. An audio-visual treat, thank you Fields!
Great show. Good old memories started it with "Dawnrazor", played "Endemoniada", "Love Under Will", "Moonchild", "At the Gates Of Silent Memory", "Psychonaut", "Prophecy", "Mourning Sun", "Vet for the Insane" and ended with "Last Exit for the Lost" but it feels a little short. Liked to see the interpretation of Carl McCoy. 4 stars.
This was a great show and Karl McCoy's stage presence filled the arena. Good mix of early and later Nephalim, appealing to new and old fans alike. Sadly the sound quality at this venue was poor, though it was still a great experience to see the Neph live.
Not very impressed with the performance of the band. Very short list of s
Song and didn't feel they are into this concert. Is look like they are in a hurry .The concert start little bit early. Thanks
Excellent. The best Nephilim show for a while. Slight changes to songs and the set list all came off perfectly! Also it is the first time I see them at Kentish Town - much prefer it to Shepherd's Bush.
Great show. Better than last year. Real energy from the band. Good sound system. Good lighting. And a dancing puppet in the front row. What more could you ask for!
Fields of The Nephilim were awesome last night as always. They played the Elizium album to perfection. Best band ever! I can t wait to see them again in December.
