Kollektiv Turmstrasse have been cranking out reliable German techno for over a decade now and show absolutely no signs of stopping any time soon. The thing that makes Kollektiv Turmstrasse unique though is that they operate as a true duo. They share a mixer and both use their own laptops and Ipads to subtly manipulate and mix tracks. The collaborative nature of it leads to new and unexpected sounds and mixes that ultimately mean you’ll never see the same set twice.
Their music is generally regarded as minimal techno but whatever you want to call it, it gets the crowds going. Subtle lead synths and pads keep the crowd engaged as they bounce along to the firm undercurrent of the backbeat, always thumping in four four time. There aren’t any theatrics to try and hook the crowd in. Kollektiv Turmstrasse are there for the music and their fans are too. Heads down and bobbing, the guys put on a mystical show, as subtle as it is transfixing they make for a techno experience like no other.
