American Authors was…. "The Best Day Of My Life!" They get you so excited and pumped up to be with them. In a way, I was partying with them! I saw them at a music festival, but it felt like I was at a concert. They are super at talking with the crowd, and a cool group of guys. They don't wear anything flashy, just jeans and a t-shirt, unlike a lot of popular bands. They are so much fun! I felt like they were singing for the crowd or with us. They were so happy that you couldn't feel anything but happiness too!
Such a talented group! They keep up their energy amazingly, and sound exactly like their recorded music live, which is appreciated. Seeing them live has gotten me really into their music, now "Home," and "Hit It" are new favortite songs of mine! I felt so energized being there and hearing their music. I'd say it was slightly unexpected, because it wasn't all about their big hit song "Best Day of My Life," (still a great song.) They still put their all into EVERY song! It was awesome because before they sang "Best Day Of My Life," (final song,) they said "This song is about the rest of your day!"
One of the greatest hours of my life (it felt like longer in a good way,) definitely recommend them. Before I saw them, I wasn't fan, but now I really like them after seeing them!
I first encountered American Authors at a music festival, wallowing in the mud with glitter in my hair and suffering from a three day hangover. When I first saw the group on stage, dressed casually and with an air of indie cool about them, I shrugged them off as another indie band probably worth seeing but nothing special. How wrong I was. Before American Authors really made it into the mainstream, I was honoured to hear ‘The Best Day of My Life’ in six inches of mud on a modest stage. The intimate venue really suited the band and allowed for optimum dancing space, as the crowd went crazy for the band. Songs such as ‘Believer’, ‘Home’ and ‘Keep me Dreaming’ were all great tunes that are securely in my iPod now, and received an incredible crowd reaction. American Authors are fun, energetic and possibly one of the happiest bands I have ever seen perform live, as they truly seemed to love every second they had on stage. A definite must see for any music lover.
I've been to several different concerts before, and I can easily say that this one was by far my favorite. Both American Authors and MAGIC GIANT had an amazing energy, as well as their opener, PUBLIC. PUBLIC did a very enjoyable rock-rendition of Toxic by Britney Spears, after which the headliners played plinko to decide who would go first. Throughout the concert, there were three different times where the bands would walk down to the center of the audience and sing/dance with everybody. There were times when it was just one band and a member from the other might join them for a song, as well as an energetic version of Cecilia by both bands combined. There were also so many different instruments, from banjo to cello to violin to tambourine. Afterwards, the bands came out and met everybody. They were all extremely kind and humble, and I would definitely recommend this concert to others.
Ive only been to a few concerts, none of which was as captivating as this one. My friends and I were front row (worth the three hour wait) after two amazing performances by Echosmith and the mowglis we were almost ready to collapse. American Authors came out right on time. We appreciated that because alot of concerts run late. For about an hour I fell in complete and utter love with the lead singer. After he stared into my eyes with his beautiful eyes, he touched my hand and I'm pretty sure life was complete. Their sound is amazing. Way better than anything I ever expected. All of the band members are super talented and you can tell they were meant to be a band. They had so much fun on stage. I felt so alive that night. More alive than I ever have thanks to the guys. Definitely American Authors new biggest fan.
York Fair is a really great venue to see a band like American Authors! Got to listen to a bit of the sound check while getting food and saw band enjoying a bit of the fair just prior to the show!
Music was mostly first album but they previewed two new songs Pride and Nothing's Better both were great!
For sure plan to buy it when released!
This is the second time I have seen them live and they were even better this time! They are my 10 year olds favorite band and so this was his first concert ever and did not disappoint! Andy Grammer was also super talented and made the night worth the two hour drive to see them all!
It was my fifth time seeing Authors and perhaps the best yet. The guys sounded incredible and the small Firebird venue allowed me and my friends the opportunity to meet them after the show. The new music they played from their upcoming album 'What We Live For' (July 1, 2016) was simply amazing and it will be well worth the wait. If you are new to American Authors I highly suggest searching and listening to their earlier music when they were The Blue Pages. Simply put, they are incredible writers and performers. I'm nearly 50 years old and I must say that they are my favorite band of all time.
Great Show. Full of energy. Support band Public were good with good audience interaction.
American Authors and Magic Giant entertained us with a great show. Loved the two bands mixing it up and sharing the stage and bringing the show down into the audience.
Mill and Mine is a great venue - my favourite in Knoxville. The only downside was the tiny turnout for such a good show.
I attended their show in Bottom of the hill in San Fransico on March 28, 2016. They are awesome!! They play quite a lot new songs from the second album (not yet released this moment), and a lot of my favorite old songs.
As a AA first timer, I am pretty impressed. I won't miss any of their concern in the bay area.

One of the best concerts I have ever been to. They were very interactive with the crowd. New best fund, the opening band was very friendly, and after they were finished they came out and hung out with everyone and allowed everyone to take pictures with them.
American Authors were fantastic. They sounded great! They put on a solid performance last night. They engaged the crowd and had good energy. Talented group of musicians. I would definitely see them again when they come through Denver.
