Born in Mobile, Alabama on 15 October 1966 and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In the late 1980s Benet sang with a Top 100-style group called Gerard, and then in 1992 formed a band with his sister, and cousin called Benet. Together they released a self-titled album, which went on to sell over 100,000 copies. Eric Benet then went on to pursue his solo career, having signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records. He released his first solo album in 1996 entitled “True To Myself.”
His second album, “A Day In The Life,” was released in 1999 and the single, “Spend My Life With You,” went on to earn a Grammy nomination in 2000. Additionally, the album also won a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Album, Male. Benet also took part in various side projects such as recording with Earth, Wind and Fire, as well as releasing an album with his label-mates called “Somethin’ For The People.” In 2001 he released his next album, “Better and Better,” but due to the controversy about change in music style that this album had and lack of creative freedom, Benét changed to Reprise-distributed label Friday Records and recorded his next album, “Hurricane.”
“Hurricane” was followed by “Love & Life” in 2008 which earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album, as well as Best R&B Male Performance for "You're the Only One," a single from the record. On June 5, 2012 Eric then released his latest album “The One,” which won him the SoulTracks Readers' Choice Award for Best Male Vocalist. In 2014 Benet released an international album, “The Other One” in which he teamed up with the European production collective.

Eric Benet's performance was filled with all the dynamics of a professional song writer/singer with a love for RNB!!!
His tribute to Prince was phenomenology in itself. He is the best at producing the vocals and vocal ranges of Prince! Bravo Eric, performance well done.
We screamed at the playing of the first musical notes to Sunshine! Sunshine is a Number 1 Hit My Friends!!! It is so beautifully soulful and heart warming. The vocals, guitar riffs, drums, and horns are spot on! Eric and his band had the three basic elements of musical genius;
music, vocals, and lyrics collaborating harmoniously. The concert was GREAT!!!
Eric's Falsetto vocals and octave ranges were flawless. His expressiveness and musical genius deeply appeals to the five senses, drawing you in to his story even more.
He created an atmosphere and loving mood that told a story of breakups, heartaches, and reconciliations.
Eric reached the aesthetics as the music generated its own standards of aesthetic value.
Finally, the technical prowess was displayed as the bands musical skills brought an impressive and musical originality. I'm loving Sunshine and all of Eric's songs, past and present in its entirety!
I had an amazing time with my fellow #TrueEricBenetFans family at the concert. If you’ve never had an opportunity to see Eric Benet live, then you’re missing a “BENETIZING” treat you will never forget. His concert was everything you would expect from a Grammy nominee artist who knows how to give an electrifying performance every time with his amazing stage presence. He sings with every fiber of his being when he’s performing before five or five thousands. He always gives his all as he captivated the crowd with his smooth sexy moves. It was an amazing concert especially when he came off the stage into the crowd to “Benetized” a fan with his tantalizing dance moves, as well as getting his face towel dried by a fan. Eric know as his royal hotness was fan as the crowd went wild. We all love how he showed love to his fans. One of the most memorable moments of the night was how Eric captivated us all with his incredible pitch and flawless range as he effortless belts out “Sometime I Cry”. As usual Eric never disappoints as he ends the show with his signature song “Gorgy Porgy”.
Eric Benét is definitely among the most gifted male artists of this age. I knew that BEFORE I attended this event, but seeing him live cemented that for me. Yes, his vocal ability and range are amazing, and his stage presence made me feel as though I were watching someone I knew personally, but meeting him after the concert signed, sealed and delivered for me the belief that if you never get to witness this man's energy, life cheated you! This man is undoubtedly one of few people who has found his niche in life and is living his dream. The best part of it is that he allows you to live the dream with him. His voice, range, ability, and vocal control will take you away. His confidence, energy, personality, and presence will coddle and pamper you while you're there. Go and see Eric Benét. You owe yourself the experience of heartfelt song and the slice of Heaven that will come with it. LOVED HIM!!!!!!
Eric Benet is the American R&B and neo soul singer songwriter who has received a total of four Grammy nominations to date for his music. He has a certain presence about him, suggesting that he has been around the block a few times and knows how it all works, also that he has worked extremely hard to have got to where he is. He begins his set with a fantastic piano version of “Let’s Stay Together” which of course was one of his first singles way back when in 1996. He has the audience in the palm of his hand just waiting for his next move. “Spend My Life with You” is the song that really gets the party started, with it being one of his most successful songs to date, making it to number one in the U.S R&B chart. The voicing and harmony that he endorses on the piano is so emotive and it resonates greatly throughout the audience.

Concert not to be missed peeps. Fantastic performance and band. Eric is awesome live as he is in the studio. Get a VIP ticket, best one I’ve seen yet. Eric takes time to engage with fans no matter how late it is. For those who miss out on VIP grab a ticket anyway, he still took the time to sign tshirts. LEGEND! We’ll be replaying our vids for ages thanks for the memories.

The show was AWESOME! I just think he should have been the closer for the show. I just wish he had a longer set. As far as his show it was excellent. He sounds even better than the records. I almost fainted when I was able to get a picture with him. I will definitely see him again if he returns to Philly.
I have seen Eric Benet at least 10 times. His concerts never disappoint ! I think that vocally he is the best male R&B singer alive. The last time I saw him was at the Napa Valley Jazz concert in June and I only wish he had performed longer because when he's singing I always want more.
Awesome performance and stage presence. Eric Benet really engages his audience while singing several of his all-time favorites even going back to 1998 when he first got in the game. Eric still Bedazzled/Benetized his fan base with his amazing falsetto.
