Where to start?
The venue was everything you could hope for, it’s basement feel along with a down and dirty vibe added to the excitement.
The evening was opened my the bands keyboard player Liam Duncan, his set was smooth and polished for such a young man.
The scene was set for the headline act, The Brothers Landreth
This was the first time I have seen them live, they had me in the palm of their hand from the very first chord.
Joey’s voice is nothing less than musical silk, coupled with his breathtaking guitar skills this guy has it all.
I was hooked from song one, the band were tight and David on base gave it a blues edge.
I have seen many many bands, and more established ones but these guys for me were right up there. Audience participation was welcomed, we all gave a rendition of Happy Birthday to the brothers father over the phone!
If you haven’t seen them, or haven’t heard them, do yourself a favour, you can thank me later!
To sum it up I would say a Country/Blues/Funk/Soul extravaganza
The Bros Landreth are at times Little Feat reincarnated. Harmonies, vocals and musicianship of the highest level. They don’t seem to realise how good they really are. It felt like they were genuinely just pleased to be there. Great connection with the audience making feel like we were in a local pub gig.
Just outstanding.
