One hour of extreme lyrics, sheer anger, raging frustration and cynicism. New songs, old songs, and fresher looser sounds. It's funkier and heavier of bass; this allows some of the tracks to breathe more...proving that not every track needs to be spat out....What's clear is that they continue to specialise in a very well observed social commentary. It's of Britain, and it's right now. In your face, now. We're reminded of some utter shit that we deal with daily; the people, the organisations, the public sector, drug dealers, folks hanging around depressing shopping centres. Situations. Stuff.
By the time the Mods come back to London in October they will have nearly trebled their audience size in 9 months (Electric Ballroom to Forum via Koko). Up front it makes perfect sense and is utterly compelling and fascinating to watch. I'm unsure, however, if this would translate to Brixton Academy. That is the next logical venue, but maybe after a summer of festivals they'll want to get closer to their crowd again.
By far the best gig I have been to; first in line and front row (standing) made the experience even more surreal.
Sleaford Mods are phenomenal, and even better live.
The crowd consisted of the most genuine people I’ve ever met - someone middle-aged man: ‘we are all friends here’. Manchester really came together that night to watch a relevant, relatable, and down to earth band.
Too bad a few sweaty hippies had to come drugged up waving their arms in everyone’s faces...the smell of piss was strong, and it didn’t smell like decent bacon.
A laptop, a voice, and incredible talent; money well spent and a night that’ll be remembered forever.
I was a jolly fucker the night of the gig.
Come back soon, lads.
These guys are testament,
To why you dont need any fancy lights, special effects or fireworks...
They're energy and music is more than enough.
Jason firstly..
Is just a little stick of dynamite and truly exudes so much electricity and what a performer!..
He expresses especially in his movement the intensit of his lyrics and to Andy's music?
BOOM!
Just blows you up man..
And Never forgetting Andy..
He provides such an integral backbone to this unique vehicle..
He steers this musical ship Upon a tapestry of bass-beaten-melodically bitten sound waves which leaves you physically and internally driven..
Cheers boyz!
You made the Boiler Shop in Newcastle light up
Anita
We all stood around afterwards and said it, the random that I met on the train the next morning said it.
1 man and a laptop, 1 man with a microphone. Shouldn't work but it just does. And how. The atmosphere and the intensity of the live performance cannot be measured. It's a wall of noise and assault of lyrics that just keeps coming.
The venue was ideal too and they'd also work at Brixton but much bigger and I reckon you'd loose the intensity.
In the years to come I'll be telling my kids that I was there.
If you have a lilt towards beats and like things a little left field then go find them quick.
Been waiting a long time to see these, was I let down, absolutely not.hid lyrics and style are beyond anything out there at the moment.he delivers a forceful message about the world we live in.i understand why people think it's trash, but they are narrow minded fools who don't look beyond.this is a man a preacher of uncontrolled passion telling us how it is.mr Williamson is class and Andy fears delivers class loops and beats to this show.because of society rulings he they will never be main stream, but I doubt this will bother these genius people.thanks for being out there and long live free speech.
An electric night, one of the best I’ve been to.
Who would’ve thought two men and a laptop could provide so much to watch. Beer was being thrown (it could’ve been urine, welcome to the club), The whole crowd chanting the chorus to every song like they were possessed by Jason’s persona, a mosh pit of 18-50 year olds from start to finish (something I never thought I’d see).
But as Jason said; it was a ‘little bit special’ and ‘all love’.
10/10
The most unique act in Britain - jason and Andrew have to be seen to be believed - a sold out rock city where revved up for a great night at there home town gig - jason makes more grunts and un human noises than I have ever heard before - tcr was played early on as well was fizzy - job seeker smashes it late on into the night - as jason said " you haven't come to see the sleaford mods - we have come to see you - one amazing gig
First time I’ve seen Sleaford Mods and they didn’t disappoint. Jason is genius lyracist and a genuine entertainer. And It wouldn’t be the same without out Andrew who should take equal credit for creating the tunes which create the perfect base for the rants which strike a chord with so many. Great gig! will definitely see them again.
Sublime. Superb. Excellent.
Do yourself a favour and get some Sleaford Mods down ya.
Andrew was grinning from ear to ear.
Jason was enigmatic and powerful.
Love the break in to "I want to break free" in the middle of Fizzy.
Jobseeker kicked the mosh pit off.
One encore was not enough - let's have some Donkey next time boys!
Nice one.
The crowd had been thoroughly whipped up by the awesome Hot Sole and we're up for a decent show. It was a friday night and Scunthorpe wanted to be entertained. Sleaford Mods didn't disappoint. As the moss swelled,Jason sat out his lyrics with the venom the crowd wanted. An awesome night. A must see band.
