Amazing show! Raveyards were an incredible opening band who put a huge amount of effort in, not only to their performance but to the whole look of their show.
Carpenter Brut were fantastic. Hard, driving synth waves and pounding beats for over an hour. The drummers half natural - half electronic kit sounded fucking great, especially considering he was an absolute beast on them. The finale, a cover of Maniac, was even better than I thought it would be (i saw them doing it on YouTube a few months back, so I assumed it would be part of this show too) My only low, was the lack of the song Obituary in the set list - its a slow one, and wouldnt have fit in with the rest of the set, so I get it, but still... would loved to have heard it.
Fearing I'd never see them in the U.K. I went to Belgium to see them on the 24/11/16. Not a huge venue which I like as it generates a great atmosphere usually... And they didn't disappoint. Seamlessly going from track to track it felt like the quickest hour or so of my life. There is no talking with the audience which you may think can be distancing but with a strong stage presence and the music being so engaging it works better than some artists who would rather you sing half the songs for them.
Needless to say I already have my tickets booked for the U.K. date and would highly recommend them to anyone who loves the 80s in any shape or form.
Good show once again. Setlist was know beforehand so no surprises there. Old classics with new material from the Leather face album. Hilight of the show was once again Maniac's guitar solo with spotlights and a wind machine.
Some minor technical hiccups at Circus on top of the normal PA being quite bad. Mixing was ranging from plausible to awful.
The best live show I've ever seen - and I've seen some pretty great ones! I've never been to another concert that was so incredibly high energy - everyone was going HARD, even the wallflowers. When they pulled out Maniac for the final song everybody completely lost it. It was a very memorable experience, I hope he continues touring again.
One of the better shows I've been to, for sure! Fantastic sound, great visuals, great crowd, good musicians! Carpenter Brut are quiet people on the stage, but they make for great showmen, as well, knowing exactly how and when to hype up their crowd. Truly a blast, I'd recommend it to anyone.
It was a lot of fun! Gost opened for them and was surprisingly good. They didn't play "Looking for Tracy Tzu" but "Roller Mobster" was great! People were having a good time and the venue size (9:30 club) was perfect as it wasn't too crowded but no empty spaces either.
It was breathtaking, I even danced for hours during the show with the girl next to me because we were bumping into each other all the time anyway. So unexpected to see the first ten rows of random metalheads/retrosynth enthusiasts dancing. 10/10, would dance again.
Hot and hard, shotgun and switchblade toting, lazer powered, crowd decimating synthwave from the depths of the grindhouse, Carpenter Brut were loud as fuck and rad as hell - then finished with the craziest and most awesome cover of Flashdance's Maniac ever.
Amazing show - one of my favourites. The videos were great and so was the music of course!
Live versions were great with a real drummer and guitar. It was a good selection of music I highly recommend seeing Carpenter Brut if you get the chance.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Never seen a show like this, especially love the mini-movies in the background.
Go and see Carpenter Brut even if you only have a passing interest in this kind of music.
