This was literally the best night of my life, I was at the very front and literally everyone done there became friends and exchanged phone numbers and social media handles. Everyone was really nice and the energy was AMAZING, even though it was really loud and loud noises make me uncomfortable it was one of those rare kinds of loud and I was happy. When Dodie played 6/10 we all scrambled to grab these wonderful cards someone mad that said 10/10 on them and EVERYONE pointed at the person who made them and we were all really proud of them. One of the friends I made at the concert had a tattoo of 6/10 on his hand and he got to scream talk with Dodie about it and she was really nice and was like “that’s amazing! Oh god, that’s on your skin for ever, let the existential crisis begin” and she did this thing where she made eye contact with every human in the building to make sure we knew she loved us and was grateful and that was really cool. We all got to jump around and we chanted “STAGE CREW STAGE CREW STAGE CREW” every time the stage crew came out to help and it was such a great community and everyone was really nice and happy and I honestly wish I could live in that moment forever.
A dream come true! I got there early and waiting in line I made friends really quickly, everyone of the community is super nice!!!
Then, when we got in, I went to buy merch and the people there were super lovely! They had everything really well organized and all the prizes were written beside the products so it was easy to see!!!
Crew is fantastic and they put their soul into their work! Lights, sound, they're even there to take the gifts and give them to the band!!!
The preshow music was soo cool and we were singing with people we didn't even knew but it was sooo fun! Seriously, again, wonderful community!! Also, there was people of all ages and places! It was so cool to see how far dodie has gotten with her songs...
Orla was the best as the opening act! She's so sweet and funny!!
Then when the band got on stage! Holy stars!! Everyone went crazy!! They are so sweet and super talented!!! I saw dodie there, so close to me, feeling the words she sang, jumping, smiling and even getting emotional with some songs or little events we did during Burned Out or She. It was a magical experience!!!
100/10 would recommend, even if you don't know them! Great night with great music!!!
I've had the pleasure of seeing dodie live twice before, and every time is better than the last.
Her between-song-banter and interactions with her band and audience make it impossible not to feel comfortable.
Her songs vary in mood throughout the show, one minute you're crying your eyes out and the next you're jumping up and down with joy. While this doesn't always work well, dodie's performance just seems to flow that way, making it feel completely natural.
The connection between the artist and the fans is so strong. Dodie doesn't sing just because she has to, she sings for her audience, trying her hardest to get across some sort of message, whether it's self-acceptance or the importance of best friends.
Her and her band work incredibly together. Everyone does there part in some small way and you can see that they are genuinely happy to be performing (kudos to drummer Ross Craib for grinning like a madman the whole way through- we loved it).
I will definitely be back for round four.
dodie's concert was the best experience in my life. i'm not exaggerating.
having dodie come to Madrid, Spain was such a gift and I'll forever be grateful.
first, orla. well, what to say. she is A SUPERSTAR! i love her, she is not only supertalented and knows how to warm up a crowd and get them have the best time, she is also incredibly funny. it was amazing to have been able to see her.
and then, oh then. dodie. she appeared as if a divine intervention was happening. she sang like an angel. she was sick AND STILL!! god, what a woman. she made an spectacular show, got us crying, dancing, chanting and singing and clapping and jumping. I'll never forget this night. met some of the best people and had a blast.
also the band? incredible? those strings with sophie and will, pete and orla being so great and doing the loveliest harmonies, ross rocking those drums.
man, what an experience.
can't wait for her to come back again
hopefully
It was an absolutely amazing night. The people waiting in line were all so nice and I definitely made new friends. The atmosphere from the very minute we got there was happy and inviting. When we got into the building the bag check was efficient and we got in with loads of time to spare. The line up acts Fenne Lily and Skinny Living really got the mood going and were amazing. Dodie was even more amazing then I imagined and I couldn’t help but smile and by the end of the night my cheeks were sore from smiling and my cheeks were tear stain from the pure beauty of the set. The lighting was perfect and really highlighted the right parts. Unfortunately the people who were in front were a lot taller then me and my friends so I didn’t actually get to see Dodie for any part all I could do was listen or use my phone camera to look. Overall it was the best night I have had in a very long time!
I have no regrets.
Even though I went there all by myself, I never once felt out of place. dodie was amazing, the venue did an amazing job with the lightning. It was one hella show, and was beyond my wildest expectations.
It was the first ever concert I’ve been to.
dodie has been one of my heroes for the way she addresses mental health issues, and her music is so relatable and therapeutic.
To be able to see her live with my own two eyes is like a dream come true.
And I’m only an international student who just got here like 3 weeks ago.
Once again, dodie was awesome, Adam Melchor was really something (i mean a good thing, people should better not sleep on him, I’m glad dodie found him), Orla was a joy to look at (as always), the crew was so professional, and I had a wonderful time.
The show was so good!
It all started with the warm-up act: Orla Gartland, her voice and sound, which is a little more 'hardcore' than Dodies, kicked off the show and made the entire room jump and made a wonderful warm up.
Then Dodie came onto the stage, at the back of the stage with a very vibrant brown orange colour highlighting her silhouette, and so the show had begun. The entire evening was worth standing in line for and especially the performance from the entire band behind Dodie was just outstanding! The entire ambience of the concert was perfect and it had the entire venue of people feeling united in feelings and opinions.
I would rate 5,5/6 stars and Lille Vega was a perfect venue for Dodies refined and lovely calm music.
I went to her concert in Amsterdam (Melkweg MAX) on the 13th of February 2019. It was great, I had been to 2 concerts before, but this definitely was the best one. The music wasn't to loud, and the crowd was super nice! I do suggest coming at least 1 hour before the show, then you might be able to get a good place. The fans are all extremely nice, and nobody is pushing you or anything. If you have fanmail, leave it on the stage, that way she will get it! It even got me and my friends a post from dodie with our banner! (We were the ones that held the "BIG HEAT, SLUTS" banner) If you have the chance to go to a dodie concert, absolutely buy a ticket, it's gonna be great!
This was my girlfriends and my 3 year anniversary present for ourselves. She introduced me to Dodie and I knew the best thing I could do was bring her to her favorite artist. We were more than blown away by the fan base and how incredibly loving and kind all of them were. We had no idea who Adam Melchor was before the show but now I listen to his music quite frequently. Dodie was everything and more than what we were expecting, it was by far the best concert I have ever attended and Dodie is so tied in with her community you can truly feel the depth of her show! Absolutely loved it and we hope she tours back to Chicago because we for sure will take the trip again!
Dodie Clark at the O2 Academy2 Newcastle was Fabulous! I managed to get a meet and greet before the show and she was lovely signing my tickets and taking a selfie with me! The concert was a lot shorter then what I'm used to (1 hour instead of 2) but she still managed to entertain the crowd and keep everyone hooked! She did a total of 12 songs as well as playing a bit of 'My Heart Will Go On' by Céline Dion on the Recorder! Would highly recommend seeing her!
