Liya Shapiro

Liya Shapiro headlines the Strongroom Bar on June 28 – her first headline show since selling out The Troubadour, and her first since the release of her debut EP Another Woman, which will have been out exactly a month by the time she takes the stage.

Five tracks of chamber and indie rock written across years of unrequited love, strings threaded through electric guitars, verses that pull inward before the choruses break open into something rawer and harder to name – if you haven't heard any of it yet, the 28th is a good place to start.

Joining her on the night are The Vivettes, a high-voltage garage rock trio from London powered by fuzz-soaked riffs and heavy bass lines; Bear Park, a Newcastle indie-pop three-piece with jangly guitars and surf-inflected charm; and Gargantuan, Please and Clove.
