R&B princess Aaliyah was born in Brooklyn, and on August 8, 2026 Brooklyn comes out to celebrate her life and music. Featuring a band performing her biggest hits under the music direction of Taja Cheek (L’Rain), plus DJs, dancers, loving testimonials, and more.

This event is part of BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!, New York City’s longest-running, free, outdoor performing arts festival.

Serpentwithfeet - diy-styled, an ethereal being, is both gentle and fierce. Seemingly reserved at first blush, SWF quickly and confidently envelops the audience with their majestic sound. There is nothing minimalist about this one person act. SWF is a spiritual experience with experimental and classical sounds used as the backdrop to their soulful, gospel-inspired vocals -- going on runs that will fuck you up in the best way possible.

Serpentwithfeet, the opening act, was begged by clapping for an encore, left the audience wonderstruck.
