Biografia
Few bands managed their time at the top of their game as well as Swedish House Mafia. They toiled away for a number of years producing tracks for other artists and it wasn’t until 2010 that they bagged a recording contract in their own right.
They then spent three years as one of the biggest pop acts in the world before knocking it on the head when they realized they couldn’t get any bigger. This sense of logic and control does characterise a lot of Angello’s work, even when the music he creates and releases might be loud, ostentatious and ridiculously danceable.
Angello’s fascination with DJ-ing began when he was twelve years old. He was a turntablist at first, spinning hip-hop and breakbeats, so it wasn’t until his late teens that he got into electronica and House music. Daft Punk are at least partially responsible for this, as Angello heard “Da Funk” in a club and in his words he "had a musical orgasm” while listening to it. Charming.
In 2004 he made his name in the House scene by releasing a remix of Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams”, followed up with a handful of tracks on Beatport to great success. He became a massively in demand producer after this, to the extent that he worked under an abundance of pseudonyms like Fireflies, Mode Hookers and Outfunk.
In 2005 he formed the House Mafia and juggled his activity with the band with his solo work and his record label pretty expertly. Now that the band is over, Angello can get back to what he does best. That doesn’t mean he won’t be tearing clubs apart with his DJ sets however, and those are still completely unmissable.

Steve Angello is absolutely incredible. He is a house DJ that was previously a member of the group Swedish House Mafia. His DJ skills are insane with great, hard hitting sounds, and amazing mixes of popular house music and unknown songs.
He is most known for his hot mixes called "Rave N Roll" "X" and the remix of Robin's "Yeah." He really knows how to get the party started and keep it going through the night. It is no wonder if he has such a great reputation on the underground scene, he really lives up to his potential. The lighting effects he creates are better than any concert or any club that I've ever seen.
As expected the energy is through the roof as everyone jumps around and feels the music. Biggest, best party you could ask for. Nothing cheesy, nothing overplayed, just great new mixes. If you like electric DJ music please do not miss Steve Angello. Your heart will be pumping, your feet will be thumping and your arms dancing wildly around your head. If this is your scene, do not miss out on the opportunity to experience him, it will be a night you and your friends will never forget.
Having been one third of the immensely popular Swedish House Mafia, it is no wonder that Steve Angello has a huge fanbase for his solo work. He had been releasing music during the band's successful career and achieved a parallel success all over Europe so when SHM unfortunately came to an end he made the natural progression to hit the road alone.
He conducts his shows with the same level of skill and ability as when he was part of the trio and the crowd continues to dance, cheer and jump under his command. Stood behind his decks as the whole stage illuminates around him, he is very much the conductor of this show and he teases the masses with beats and drops at will. Often moving away from his past band's work, he focuses more on the solo releases and his own masterful remixes. The crowd does not seem to notice the dismissal of the older tracks as they are far too lost in the euphoric dance atmosphere when Angello plays the likes of 'Prisoner (Let Me Go)' and 'Children Of The Wild'. A DJ who is likely to only get better with age.
I like his concert very much, and I was so looking forward to re-living the experience, but the set he played at Pacha was the worst.
It was such a shame to wait for so long to listen to some set that I was not expecting from him.
