Biografia
Flux Pavilion first rose to attention in 2008 with his experimental brand of dub step. He formed an independent label entitled Circus Records with Doctor P, DJ Swan-E, and Earl Falconer of UB40 fame which allowed him to release demos, early EPs and his 2011 breakthrough single 'Bass Cannon' which was placed on Radio 1's A List Playlist. He is still to release a solo debut album, yet he has contributed to numerous projects, including his collaborative release with fellow record mate Doctor P entitled Circus One to which he produced and recorded four tracks.
His most widely recognised track is 'I Can't Stop' which originally featured on the Lines In Wax EP. In August 2011, the track was sampled by producer Shama Joseph for 'Who Gon Stop Me' which later appeared on 'Watch The Throne' a collaboration by Kayne West & Jay Z and featured other esteemed artists including Frank Ocean and Beyoncé. The 2013 film The Great Gatsby featured the track in its star studded soundtrack which included Lana Del Rey and The xx whilst it was also chosen for the trailer of Ron Howard's 2013 film 'Rush' starring Chris Hemsworth.
He has been steadily releasing EPs for the past five years, the latest being 2013 'Freeway' which featured his successful collaboration with vocalist Rosie Oddie on 'Gold Love'. A producer who seems tireless in his work ethic who is constantly re-imagining his sound whilst gaining a cult following on the live music scene, the stage is set for him to release a huge debut in 2015.

For all my life, I've always wanted to see Flux Pavilion. What got me interested in him in the first place was his remix of Cracks. It was the first dubstep song that I have listen to. He has many awesome songs under his belt that really influence the dubstep scene in England and in the United States. From Bass Cannon, his Gold Dust remix, Do Or Die, and I Can't Stop, his songs left an impact to the EDM scene in America.
Back in May, USC events announce their full lineup for Paradiso festival, I was surprised to see Flux on the lineup. I was excited and when the day finally came, I was mad excited. His set at the MainStage at the Gorge amphitheater was over the top and he kept the crowd going. He even played some of his famous songs and played other people's songs as well. When it was all over, I was thrilled to see him live.
Flux Pavilion should be one of the top dj's in the world. After seeing him for only an hour, I really want to see him again and see him play a much longer set. I really want to see him again and I can't wait for another announcement from him to tour the U.S. and play at a smaller venue.
Towcester born DJ Flux Pavilion has been making waves on the electro and dance scene since he started producing music in 2008. His very first single 'I Can't Stop' achieved impressive chart positions on both the UK and US dance charts for a new artist. Since then his reputation has grown tremendously and so has his live show.
Now entertaining thousands at some of the world's biggest events including Glastonbury, Reading & Leeds and Ultra festival, he has crafted a show that is assured to bring the party. A complex and awe inspiring light display begins behind stage and the young artist steps proudly behind his decks and drops 'Watch Out For This' by Major Lazer. He consistently keeps the crowd dancing and screaming with a combination of expertly designed mixes and trippy, surreal visuals.
As the screens pulsate and the intro to 'I Can't Stop' begins the audience lose their mind and jump and dance in unison. A combination of some of the best new dance music and his own popular tracks such as 'Bass Cannon' cements Flux Pavilion's reputation as a real one to watch in the dance music world.
Flux Pavilion is an English dub step producer and DJ who has been slowly rising through the ranks of the music industry, in particular the electro and dance scene, since 2008. Flux Pavilion, real name Joshua Kierkegaard G. Steele (you can see why he shortened it), has achieved relative mainstream success ever since his first single ‘I Can’t Stop’ did well in the charts. He has attained quite the devoted fan base with his eccentric music style and edgy electronica. ‘I Can’t Stop’ remains his most notable hit and is the climax of his live show; it is a great tune to rave to and the whole crowd, with their fluorescent headbands and bracelets, were loving it. It felt like I was in the midst of a new rave festival, or at a full moon party. The energy was electric and Flux Pavilion was great at getting the crowd pumped. Equally dance heavy and pumping tune ‘Bass Cannon’, in which the Bass is indeed extremely powerful, was also a highlight if the show and had the whole crowd raving along.
If you're a "bass in your face" kind of person, the supporting-lineup was great. Flux Pavilion, himself, seems to be in some kind of transition-state with his art.
I get that artists need to keep evolving. And I get that you don't want to alienate your prior fans. ...But when you're changing your sound, you really need to go "all in" and make a clean break from your prior sound. Otherwise, the mish-mash of your old and new styles can end up creating a really uneven set. That unevenness can end up in really high-relief if your supporting acts were selected based on your prior sound - as seemed to be the case last night.
I wish Flux Pavilion all the best, though. But for now, Kompany and Dubloadz are more where I am as a listener. Even Dion Timmer put on an easier to get into set because his sound across the length of his set was more cohesive.
I've seen Flux three times now, and I have to say he is one my all-time favorites to see live. Not only does he deliver his classic sounds for the fans, but he also throws in a variety of new tracks that sound amazing and give you all sorts of emotions. The Ravine was probably one of the best venues I've been to in Atlanta. I would definitely relive seeing Flux at the Ravine over and over if I could. I will admit I was a bit sad his set ended a bit earlier than the first two openers but he still delivered some great and enjoyable EDM. Also, the light show in the Ravine is insanely beautiful and is probably the best lighting I've seen in an Atlanta venue. Keep up the amazing work!
It was a really cool experience. I don't think that Flux helped in that as much as my desire to listen to some of his songs. So when he came out after a while I was just pumped that some dubstep was playing.
Having said that, I did have a great time and for the price it was definitely worth listening to his playlist for an hour and some minutes.
So good! Loved every second of it. The opening act was good too. Everyone there was super nice and everyone was dancing. He didn't just play his music he remixed some kendrick songs so that was a cool surprise. Would definitely go again. Everyone should see flux
Fucking incredible!! Experience of a lifetime definitely! If you like EDM at all you should definitely catch Flux on tour, the finale alone was worth the whole night. The openers were decent too but flux came in and just fucking blew the roof off with bass.
Flux killed it as usual! If you live for bass music, then flux is who you need to see because there was never a dull moment! Packed house is the usual especially at a venue like Exchange! Always have great experiences there and will be going back for more!!
