I was at the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks tonight and wow! what a show. I’ve seen the band quite a few times but tonight topped the lot.
Dave Wilk was particularly amazing! I found myself watching him more than Chris and listening to bass lines that were so well played and sometimes hearing them so clearly and appreciating bass lines that I was familiar with from the records but never so well. I hadn’t realised that the bass pedals featured in so many songs. And how he multi-tasks as he does is ridiculous. Tuning his guitars while playing bass pedals and seamlessly playing from 6 string to bass to pedals.. Absolutely wonderful to watch. And the band seemed to be really enjoying themselves a lot which was also great to see. Long may it continue - a great band
The sound quality was absolutely first class tonight. I liked those stereo effects a lot as well. I thought the set list was great - mixing old favourites with less often played tracks.
If you're a fan of old style Genesis you'll love it!
Absolutely loved it. I've seen this band several times and every time is a treat but this was the most enjoyable one so far.
Every tune is a banger, from Watcher of the Skies to One for the
Vine. Supper's Ready was absolutely spot on, but the highlight for me was Duke's Travels and Duke's End. Duke was my first Genesis album and to hear these tracks performed live with such skill was an almost spiritual experience.
I won't hesitate to go again, a most entertaining evening.
I've seen G2 a number of times and never failed to have a really good time. The band always give great performances and this set list included many of my favourite tracks.
