Matthew Herbert put on an awesome show when I saw him a few months ago. His sound is really something unique. I've never heard anything like it before. He tells a story with his music, and takes great pleasure in it.
Each sound is methodically planned to pure perfection. He never misses a step, and the crowd, including myself, ate it up. In this performance, he retells the story of a pig, from birth to death, in the from of electronic music. I found it extremely hard to imagine how in the world he would do this, but he totally pulled it off.
The audience nodded along with every every sound. We were all enthralled by this masterpiece that many of us thought would be a disaster. At the end of the show, as the pig is finally friend, the hall filled with smell of bacon. A fitting end. All in all, I was very impressed. How he came up with the idea I have no clue, but it was the most unique show I've ever seen in my life. Not only that, it was entertaining. It was a real pleasure to see him at work. I'd see him again any time.
