First off, I really went for the opener Hand Habits, who was great. She’s an astounding artist and I love this band. She finished with The Book on How to Change, my favorite of hers, but also performed What Lovers Do, Placeholder, Jessica and others. As opener, set was shorter than I’d like. One day love to see as main event. Whitney I knew but not as well but I was pleasantly surprised. This is one amazing band live. It’s unusual to have singer be drummer though not unheard of. He sings falsetto which is hard to do right, but he does. Had a blast. I’d see these bands again in a heartbeat.
Saw these guys at Glasto knowing 0 of their songs. My friend made me go and they absolutely blew my mind.
Cheery indie tracks a long a Mac de Marco kind of vibe played by a band with excellent tightness and hooks.
If you get the chance to see them I can not recommend them enough, you will not be disappointed.
In other news, if you read this guys, come to Scotland (Edinburgh). I'll bring heaps of people to your show then we can go to a party and take durgs.
Seeing Whitney play live you really get much more then expected. They might sounde minimalistic on their records, but live they are a rollercoaster of harmony. The setup was fully equipped with strings, while the dominant sound of the trumpet calls for Beirut gigs. The NRBQ cover of "The Magnet" was a cherry on a pie.
A gig not to miss.
Absolutely phenomenal. Everything you could hope for in live instrumentation. Everything from jazzmasters (eguitar) to trumpets. The lead singer sounds amazing. I wasn't sure about his voice from the live footage I had seen online, but it sounds so much better in person. Would definitely recommend. 10/10
Bit of a weird opening from Jimmy Whispers, but that was entertaining nonetheless. Michael Rault rocks on his solos, another great opener. Whitney itself is great. They're very dynamic and perform longer versions of their songs with more solos and flourishes. Would recommend.
I attended their show at the Triple Rock Social Club and was delighted to hear them live. ALL the members of band were exceptionally talented, especially the lead singer. The venue wasn't great, but 10/10 go see them play.
The guys were great! I love them, their stage presents is awesome! My second time seeing them. Can't wait for them to come back around again! Hopefully it won't be another two years. :)
The concert was great! This is a band definitely worth seeing live. The band has great energy and only took like a two second break before the last four songs of the set.
Amazing show, we were out on the lawn and were very happy to be there. 10/10 would see again. My friend and I really enjoyed ourselves. I hope to see more of them soon.
