Faroese musician Teitur Lassen known simply buy his first name has continually spurred out hit after hit, with six studio albums under his belt and having collaborated with a big number of stars, it no surprise that Teitur has become a worldwide superstar. Consciously making the decision to make music in English and finding both a publishing and then record deal with Universal, he set upon launching his career. He released his debut album ‘Poetry & Aeroplanes’ in 2003 which received raving reviews, creating a buzz in the music scene as his incredible talent and potential was recognised. The hysteria surrounding him gave him the opportunity to extensively tour North America and Canada supporting major artists such as: Rufus Wainwright, John Mayer and Glen Phillips. Citing creative differences, in 2006 Teitur parted ways with Universal and signed with Equator Records, a label set up by his manager. With a new found freedom, Teitur went back to his roots for his third album ‘Káta Hornið’ performed entirely in his native language and promoted its release through touring the Faroe Islands. Clearly home is where the heart is, for his latest album ‘Story Music’ released in 2013, Teitur returned back to Faroe Islands to record. This time he brought on board over 78 local musicians ranging from the age of 7-83 to create an authentic traditionally folky album and was he awarded ‘Artistic Achievement of the Year’.

Seated at a grand piano with simple melodies, his textured and delicately pure vocals resonate through the room warming the souls of all present. Performing a mixture of lovesick songs like ‘Catherine the Waitress’ and ‘You Get Me’ and paying homage to his beloved homeland with ‘Home’ Teitur delves into real emotions which adds to the bewitching nature of his shows. Delivering pure quality, soothing and heartfelt music, the Danish superstar has become a legend in his own right.
