Beardyman

The way that musicians manipulate their voices to create high notes and low notes is fantastic and undeniably incredibly skilled, but the techniques of a beat boxer are something else entirely. And of course there’s normal beat boxing, and then the style of Beardyman, which just seems to blow everything else out of the water. From his style of playing other instruments whilst he performs, to mastering singing a vocal harmony under his sound scopes is like nothing I’ve ever heard before.

The way that he layers and loops his different elements of beat boxing using a loop pedal and other electronic equipment is innovative, and he’s always trying to push the boundaries of what’s conventional for a performer of his genre. He opened the show with Vampire Skank, and played a great selection of his tracks from over the years, as well as improvising songs on the spot, which was incredible.

He was also great at interacting with the audience, and amongst his performance, he told some really funny jokes, and totally won the crowd over from the moment he set foot on the stage.

A very intense experience from Beardyman. He is now constructing and consolidating his own musical world and I think it is really amazing. His music is unlike any other. I would love for him to continue and dig farther in his creation. Always great fun and imaginative content. He is a true and authentic artist. A real pleasure and makes my mind boiling with these very innovative sounds and constructions. I definetly beg for more.
