Benjamin Tod e Lost Dog Street Band

We saw this band open up for the Devil Makes Three in Detroit and they were SO GOOD live. The singer has a beautifully mournful voice, and the girl on violin not only looked cute in her braids and ruffled shirt but she also just made that fiddle sing. Their style might on the whole be characterized as dark-grass, though they don’t fit perfectly in any genre. The singer, I think his name is Benjamin, told a couple of interesting stories that filled in a little bit about what the lyrics for some of the songs are talking about; he is apparently a recovering drug addict. Despite the dark lyrics for some of their songs, their music still made us want to dance. 5/5 stars, would definitely go see them again.
