A.J. Croce was a powerhouse of piano, guitar and vocal talent. He was passionate about putting a good show on for his audience. He is quick witted with warm hearted stories about breaking into the business. I purchased three CDs and have been listening to them everywhere I go now in my car.
I hope he returns to this area again. I and others will wants to see and listen to him again.
What to say about Leo Kottke, the man is a living and working legend. Hailing from Georgia, the acoustic guitarist has earned a cult following from fans and fellow guitarists alike for his fingerpicking style which draws influence from blues, jazz and folk. This great range of stylings and the sheer volume of work he has means that in 2014 the demand is still there to see the great man perform live.
It would also appear he has gotten better with age, as to watch him pluck the guitar strings with the speed and accuracy he has is really quite an impressive sight. You're also likely to hear his personal versions of tracks from fellow contemporaries such as Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Cash and The Byrds whilst he also has collaborative tracks with Chet Atkins and Ricky Lee Jones to name a few.
Between the easy listening tones, expect to hear humorous and strange monologues that Leo has hand picked from throughout his 30 year career, all with the accompaniment of his 6 or 12 string guitars. You're assured to hear about the glory days of the 80's and Kottke's early influences, this is one musician who has had a truly fascinating life and career. He has a number of tickets for dates available in October so get hold of them asap.
