Demon Hunter biografia

Demon Hunter is an American Christian metal band from Seattle, Washington and was formed in 2000 by brothers Don and Ryan Clark.

The band was started as a project by the two brothers as they had both been involved in other bands and decided to pursue music together. A self titled album was released in 2002 and despite not achieving commercial success, the band did gain a lot of coverage through press, critics and word of mouth as they toured the States with their nu metal sound. The next album came two years later and the group had a fan base in place for this release, it peaked at #22 and #23 on the Heatseekers and Christian charts.

Their next four albums all charted within the top 10 on the Heat charts and continued to slowly climb up the US Billboard album charts. Their peak position was obtained after the release of 'Extremist' in 2014 which peaked at #16. The band has a large Christian following and their lyrics and material are often very spiritual, they have had numerous singles appear on the Christian charts.

They recently received criticism by offering their music for use in the military after Metallica retracted their own material. A Navy SEAL linked to the killing of Bin Laden has commented on the issue: '''We stopped using [Metallica's] music, and then a band called Demon Hunter got in touch and said, 'We're all about promoting what you do.'" To date the band has sold over half a million records worldwide.

For some reason when I first heard of Demon Hunter, I knew it would be a metal band, but NEVER would have guessed it to be a Christian metal band. It was actually quite an interesting surprise, mainly because I’m not super religious, but their music is appealing to anyone regardless of how religious you are…atleast if you are into metal music that is.

If you’ve never been to a metal show, then you may not want to check them out, but if you are into metal, their show is DEFINITELY worth going to. Their fans are extremely loyal and are completely supportive. Like most metal shows, everyone is grunged out in black, ready to mosh and cause bruises that will last for weeks, all in the name of getting completely lost in the music. The face-melting sounds of their guitars, and vocalist Ryan Clark completely surrounds you, and completely penetrates you down to your soul. To be honest, you don’t even notice that the lyrics are Christian based, but that’s mainly because you are just rocking out far too hard. They are all over the place, and completely lost in their playing, something that you can’t help but respect.
