Tour name: Battle For Boonstock
Of Thorn & Vine Promotions is teaming up with Boonstock to bring you Battle For Boonstock: Rock Round 2. We are proud to present some amazing bands for the evening of Friday, January 13th! Two three-piece bands, Calgary's "Grandola" and Calgary's "Magik Spells" will be competing for a spot in the final round and ultimately a spot at Boonstock. Closing the night in emphatic fashion will be the ever-entertaining and ultimately fantastic "The Frank", while Paeton Cameron will be showing his talents along with his incredible band when the show begins.
The Frank. We could leave it at that and 'nuff would be said, but let's elaborate. The Frank are a straight-up rock band who have decided that the best way to pay tribute to great music is to make more of it. Doing so by blending hard-rock, southern-rock, punk-rock, and folk-rock influences, The Frank are all of the above with some Neil Young mixed in. Impossible to not enjoy, hang around to see them lay it down!

A monster of groove with a fresh, funky flavour. Magik Spells creates a sound thats fluid but hard hitting, danceable but rocking at the same time. The experience is a psychedelic to outer-space and back down to earth tribal dance party.

Grandola are impossible to describe, but we will try. Punk, rock, originality, unbridled creativity and a wicked sense of humor, Grandola is a band of many dimensions. Charismatic and entertaining, they are going to be grandiose in every sense of the word and a delight to behold!

Starting off this night of fantasmorgasmic enjoyment is The Paeton Cameron Band. Paeton is a staple of the Red Deer scene and a fantastic musician/singer/songwriter/guitarist. What is with all these creative left-handed folk? Joining him will be his band and a ton of Red Deer locals, right?! Check him out at 9!!
