Growing up, my parents were also big fans of Connie Francis, so I heard her my entire childhood. When I found out she was going on tour, I knew I had to take my mom to go see her.
We saw her at Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pennsylvania, and the show was absolutely amazing. Even though she is in her 70s, her voice is just as beautiful as I always remember it.
She actually sounds even better in person than on the radio or on an album, though she occasionally had a bit of trouble hitting a few of the notes. She was really fun and engaging, telling little stories and talking to the audience in between songs-it kind of felt like reminiscing with an old friend. I loved the old pictures that were shown on stage too, it really made the concert feel very intimate.
I think that my favorite part of the show was when she sang God Bless America at the very end, and encourage the crowd to sing along with her. My mom actually teared up a little bit. Overall, it was a beautiful night and if I ever have the chance to see her again, I definitely will.
Connie Francis was a household name when I was growing up..I love everything she sang and waited to see every Ed Sullivan show to see if she was going to appear..She was my Idol when I was a young girl..I learned all her songs and sang them for years, doing my own small town Theater for some years..I am almost 74 and I still perform some, and still sing her music..She is still a Super Gal in my eyes..Still Beautiful and Sharp witted..I still admire her..I have a son, thanks to the music we've shared over the years, he always had interest in Entertaining and is currently one of the singers in the Country Group, Little Big Town..Thank you Connie Francis for being a Super talent, and thank you for you music, that lives in my heart to this day..Bonnie Sweet
I last saw Connie Francis in concert in 1963 in Boston, Mass when she was an up & coming artist. Even then she & her voice were out standing. A loyal fan for ever from Ontario, Canada & I would love to see her in concert again in Barrie or Toronto, Ontario, Canada
