Melbourne natives, Strange Talk, to listen to, make you feel almost as though you’re in a disco in the 80s with the reservation that you will probably go back home to the present day. This synthpop band write some huge pop hits that will set off a night of dancing like it’s 1985. They have only been a band for four years but it hasn’t derived from their fantastic success and their loyal fan base, which has grown exponentially over the past couple of years. They open this set with the breakthrough single “Climbing Walls” which features on their self titled EP, which they released through Neon Gold Records. It reached number one on Billboard’s Uncharted chart in 2011. They have such a positive vibe about them, which is infectious, filling this room with light, (Actual light and metaphoric light) keeping this audience on their toes. In the licensing world this band have done fantastically well to get their music featured on shows such as 90210, Made in Chelsea and The Shire. Their opening song “Climbing Walls” as featured on the soundtrack for the video game Sleeping Dogs. This band even performed at the Emporio Armani store launch in Sydney. They close this electric set with their song “Morning Sun” which was featured on the soundtrack for the movie, That Awkward Moment. They are definitely one of those bands that have hits that you’ve probably heard somewhere before, somewhere on the radio, on an advert, in a movie scene or on your favourite TV drama.
