When you go out clubbing and hear music in a commercial atmosphere, it’s fun to immerse yourself in the music, wander in and out of different rooms, and see what you’re enjoying. Hearing Larock perform live at a Berlin nightclub was a similar experience, only a thousand times better! The Swiss DJ is hands down the most talented and skilful person on DJ decks that I have ever witnesses. A club night is heightened even further when you can see a talented DJ, but with Larock, it was on another level, with everyone swarming to surround the DJ booth.
The energy and passion he emitted was contagious, and his encouragement for everyone to dance and sing along were not missed, the entire venue was dancing to him and for him, showing their appreciation of his mixes and talent. When he began playing Rise Up, people were jumping up and down, putting their arms in the air, and singing along. The great thing about his set was that he didn’t just play off of the Rise Up album, but took tracks from Manego too, and also created some original mixes there for us to party along to. The talent required to multitask the mixes with the synth, and his crowd interaction totally blew me away. He ended with his remix of That’s My Name, which was a buzzing high to go out on.
