Live reviews
American alternative rock/electronica band, Rock Kills Kid were my favourite act I’ve ever seen live, and I’m praying that their disbanding proves to be a hiatus, rather than a complete split. At the start of their career in the early 2000s, they were named in the 10 Artists to Watch, and went on to tour extensively with their two fantastic albums.
When I saw them live most recently, they were performing a selection of tracks from both albums, as well as playing their more famous singles. They opened the show with Paralyzed, and the audience were showing so much appreciation for the track, that it ended up being their finale as well, making the gig take a fill 360 turn.
The band are true performers, they engage with the audience, as well as giving every performance one hundred and fifty per cent effort. They were calling everyone forward to dance, and pointing out individuals who were getting really into the music. Their jokes and banter play off of each other, and they’re naturals at maintaining the energy in the room. Everyone seemed to be having the best time, they must come back again, the always put on the best show
