Since last playing at Beat Boutique Al's been a busy busy guy. Early
in the year he released a third volume of his massively successful
Disco Love Compilation on BBE, toured the UK, Spain, France, Belgium,
Germany, Italy, Ireland and Canada, including headline spots at The
Electric Frog and Scottish Soul Weekenders. With a nod to his "cover
up" northern routes he's released two limited mix albums, "Disco 45"
volumes 1 and 2, exclusively for the Japanese market. He's been mega
busy in the studio, releasing tracks on Kojak Giant Sounds as well as
providing remixes for soul music heavyweights such as The Sunburst
Band, Stanton Davies and Tommy Stewart, with a slew of further
releases lined up for the autumn. And on the production front,
following on from his Million Dollar Orchestra and Secret Sounds
albums, Al's been working with some fantastic musicians and vocalists
recording an album: Al Kent Presents Magic Touch - "The Disco Room",
due out very soon.
