Two of madison’s most exciting new bands converge on the Crystal Corner for a night of impenetrable grooves and full-force artistry. With pulsing percussion, full horn sections, emcees, dirty electro beats, the vibe will be magnetic.

Although new to the scene, the musicians of Immigré are no strangers to Madison audiences. Immigré was founded in the fall of 2014 by members of the Afrofunkstars, who developed their musical chemistry as Tani Diakite’s backing band over the past five years. They added an all-star horn section featuring members of the Youngblood Brass Band, Big Payback, Dub Foundation & the Mustache. Mixing influences of Afrobeat, Funk, Jazz, and traditional West African rhythms, Immegré’s sound is explosive, but always grounded in unwaveringly danceable grooves.

Fringe Character is a producer / writer / arranger of nuelectrosoulhop music. In the flesh, Fringe Character plays these original productions combining the moving parts of soul, hip-hop, dub and electronica with the magnetic and original presentation of a 10-piece band.
