Kris Bowers

Kris Bowers is an award-winning pianist and film composer. Having already worked with artists such as Aretha Franklin, Kanye West, Q-Tip, Marcus Miller, José James and others, Kris released his debut album, Heroes + Misfits, in 2014 to critical acclaim. The album debuted at #1 on the iTunes jazz charts, and made him one of iTunes’ “Artists to Watch in 2014.” In film, Kris has scored a number of documentaries including Kobe Bryant’s Muse and Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me, and was selected to participate in the 2015 Sundance Composers Lab. Most recently, Kris composed the music for a documentary about the legendary producer Norman Lear with directors Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady. The film opened this year’s Sundance Film Festival. His latest score for the film Little Boxes, starring Melanie Lynskey, will premiere at the 2016 TriBeCa Film Festival.
