MFA Late Nites returns on April 3, with an after-hours celebration of "Writing the Future: Basquiat and the Hip-Hop Generation."

Five of the artists featured in the exhibition—Fab 5 Freddy, Futura, Kool Koor, Lady Pink and Lee Quiñones—will travel to Boston to attend the special event, which will feature headline performances by local hip-hop acts Oompa, STL GLD, CAMP BLOOD and Edo.G. Tickets are available now on mfa.org, $20 in advance ($15 for MFA members) and $25 at the door.

MFA Late Nites offers the first chance for the public to see "Writing the Future: Basquiat and the Hip-Hop Generation," the first major exhibition to look at Jean-Michel Basquiat’s relationship to early hip-hop culture. Spanning more than 125 works across media, Writing the Future positions Basquiat and his peers, friends and sometimes collaborators A-One, ERO, Fab 5 Freddy, Futura, Keith Haring, Kool Koor, LA2, Lady Pink, Lee Quiñones, Rammellzee and Toxic as the prophetic founders of a transformational movement in contemporary American art, with a conceptual approach rooted in early hip-hop.

In addition to the headliners, HipStory will capture the evening with interviews from guest artists, community members and attendees to celebrate the life and impact of Basquiat’s legacy. Additional performers on STL GLD’s stage include Edan, Dzidor and Just Plain Jones. CAMP BLOOD's lineup features NYC's H.B.I.C. and Disorder, while Oompa’s lineup will have Cake Swagg, Dalaun and Lady Ice.
