Jazz guitarist Oscar Peñas, originally from Barcelona, Spain, has significantly impacted the New York music scene since relocating in 2007. His original compositions seamlessly blend influences from classical music, jazz, and other genres, resulting in innovative and deeply engaging soundscapes. Peñas has collaborated with some of the most respected names in jazz, including Mike Stern, Greg Leisz, Ron Carter, Paquito D'Rivera, Gil Goldstein, and Esperanza Spalding. Peñas takes a break from composing to engage audiences with an acoustic ensemble; Oscar has selected a repertoire of new and old originals, including a bolero, a tribute to Jim Hall, jazz waltzes, and blue-tinged songs for an evening of infectious groove and lyricism.
