Poetical Outlaws
Poetical Outlaws is a monthly spoken word & music night held at Diego's Joint in Sunderland hosted by @garythehatproductions . We provide a stage for people of all backgrounds, genders & sexualities to express themselves creatively in a fun & safe environment.
We also want to give artists a chance to get paid for performing their work so the night is a pay what you feel event with the profits being shared between the featured artists. We suggest £5 but less or more is perfectly fine & nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds.
FEATURED ARTISTS
Three wanted fugitives will be performing on the night, two of them spoken word artists and the third will be closing the night with a music set.
OPEN MIC
5 minutes slots will be available for spoken word artists, poets, comedians etc. Sign up is on the night at the door.
MINI SLAM
This will be a bit of fun with a prize up for grabs. Three outlaws will go head to head in a shootout. They will have one round of bullets (a poem) each with up to 3 minutes to shoot as many audience members as possible (audience decides winner). Sign up is at the door on a first come first served basis.
MERCH
There will be a merch table where anybody who attends the event can display their pamphlets, books, CD's etc that they have for sale. Local artists will also be welcome to use this space which will be promoted by the host throughout the night.
