"A Power Trio like no other" is how this outfit has been described, a wild mix of rock, jazz, fusion & more. It's certainly the most hard-edged group the extremely talented Steinway artist Robert Mitchell has put together to date. He is a long-standing figure in the UK jazz scene, a professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and a prolific artist with many albums and several bands under his belt, including Epiphany3 and TRUE THINK.

Drawing inspiration from the heavy fusion of Chick Corea and Allan Holdsworth, the psychedelic bluesy swagger of Jimi Hendrix, and the fearless multi-media explorations of Cecil Taylor.
Little Black Book brings together three bravura players in uplifting performance. Laurie Lowe on drums and Zayn Mohammed (Sky Guitar Star winner - 2nd series) on guitar, bring the exact combination of power, accuracy and unbounded imagination to make the project come alive.

These are three firebrand virtuosos, with a long-shared history, who wear their influences brightly on their sleeves. Rock, Fusion, Classical, Jazz, Spoken Word, Freeform and Cinematic Soundscapes and Robert's narration of original poetry combined with improv, and a first recording with the new Rhodes Mk8 and Roland Ax Edge 'Keytar'. - all generously mixed in a cauldron of synergy.

Polymath Mitchell is a composer, pianist, band leader, professor and poet, who has been lauded for his technique and empathy on the piano since a teenager. This group shows yet another progression in his career, working closer with guitar sounds, something he's wanted to do for some time. the effect is a hard edged, groove based trio with no holds barred.
