Michelle Laverick is a Derbyshire-based singer-songwriter whose music blends folk and nu-folk with lyrical storytelling and inventive guitar work. Originally from Teesside, she returned to performing in 2023 with her debut album, championed by BBC Introducing across the East Midlands. Her 2024 EP Selkie Child, recorded with Ben Haynes and featuring Jas Scott, built on that momentum. Michelle has supported Tom Robinson and Martin Stephenson & The Dainties at venues including London’s Half Moon, Manchester’s Band on the Wall, and Sheffield’s Samuel Worth Chapel. With more releases planned for 2025, she is establishing herself as an authentic new folk voice.
