Memphis based artists and troubadours, Amy LaVere and Will Sexton have been music collaborators and touring companions for 11 years now. The quality of their craft, the miles traveled and their original catalog is ever growing. LaVere’s storytelling and songwriting is barbed and sharp, a delightful contrast to her sweet soprano vocals and smooth upright bass playing. The dark and charming writer has released seven critically acclaimed solo recordings and has collaborated on recordings with many other artists across the Americana landscape. Notable collaborations include works with Luther Dickinson, Valerie June, Sharde Thomas, Amy Helm, Sea Sick Steve, Todd Snider and Johnny Dowd. She has performed in venues as wide ranging as St Andrews Hall in London to famed Memphis dive bar Earnestine and Hazel’s. There isn’t a room she can’t charm with her humor, wit and soulfulness.
Over the past three decades, Will Sexton has grown into a skilled musical polymath: an esteemed writer, producer, session player and solo artist with a string of acclaimed solo LPs to his credit. He has produced records for many Americana artists including projects for Mark Edgar Stuart, Pastor Jumping Jack Ward, Betty Soo, and wife Amy LaVere to name just a few. Sexton’s seasoned guitar playing has been featured on hundreds of records including recent projects for legendary soul artist Reverend Al Green and UK based artist Ray. Will’s virtuosic guitar style and velvet vocals are a superb fit to LaVere’s distinctive talent. Amy and Will are among the finest musical craftsmen and performers in the Americana genre. Their spellbinding show is incomparable, something you must see for yourself.
