The Anchoress and Roxanne de Bastion

Seen Roxanne a few times, both supporting other acts and her own headline shows. This was the launch of her new album in a lovely venue, The Old Queens Head, in Islington. I really like small intimate shows and you couldn't ask for better. There were two supporting acts, Lauren Ray and Zoe Konez and I have to say both were really good acts and I will definitely look out for them, always good to find new good musicians. Roxanne player, what I believe, is her first full bad show. Ably supported by her backing musicians, if that's the right phrase, she delivered a really good set of new and old songs. Roxanne has a haunting, lifting voice, far better than my words are able to portray. I really enjoyed the show and songs. Look forward to listening to the new album and the next live shows.
