Excellent concert. This was my first time seeing Kinga Głyk and her trio live, but I'm sure it won't be the last. She has the tendency to introduce everything--a bit off-putting, but not terrible. The music moved in and out of the worlds of funk, fusion, and blues—exactly the kind of stuff I like to listen to. I'm only a beginning bass player, so I can't comment on whether her bass playing is as amazing as it looks to me and others, but I found it to come in somewhere between virtuosity and excellent accompaniment (there were plenty of moments when her keyboardist/pianist or her drummer dad were taking the spotlight for a bit). Kinga slapped on a couple of occasions but usually stuck to finger style.
Great stuff. I would love to see her play with a guitarist in the bad as well...maybe a horn section. Great music.
