Having never been to Stereo for a gig before but having heard some of the Dunts music on Spotify I was looking forward to this gig given the vibrant music scene in Glasgow. I was not disappointed. The original support act had to call off due to illness but the replacement where absolutely stonkingly good. A young four piece band with thumping base and a post punk rock buzzing sound. It was good to hear Gallus after also hearing them on Spotify. The crowd were well up for it.
Next up was the most excellent Voodoos, again another great band with a smouldering look of a band on the cusp of something great.
Finally the headliner for the show, the Dunts. The crowd were stoked from the previous endeavours of both excellent support bands.
Coming on with a self assured swagger the band encouraged the crowd to get involved. The drummer was crazily good, the beats along with the bass player in keeping the tempo up and the lyrics from the main singer and the lead guitarist made the crowd go wild. The place was packed and starting to get sweaty with the fans up front crowd surfing and moshing around. I'm looking forward to this bands future releases it's one to watch out for for.
The only downside to the whole night was the over zealous security/door staff who seemed to want to ruin the crowd having fun.
All in all a great gig !
