Cyndi Lauper is an icon... When I was young I remember stealing my older sister's "She's So Unusual" cassette tape to rock out to "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and all the other upbeat, empowering pop songs on this memorable debut album. I felt so cool and grown-up. I may have also “borrowed” some of my sister’s clothes, but let’s not tell her about that! Decades later, I own my own copy of the album on iTunes, but not much else has changed. I still envy all her cool funky outfits and admire her relentless determination to be her uncompromising and inspirational self. In concert, Cyndi Lauper has not missed a beat. I saw her for the first time touring with Deborah Harry from Blondie and it turned out to be the best girls’ night ever!!! Lauper performs all her best hits, puts on a great show, and provides fun and on-point audience interaction. You will end the night feeling great about life, carefree, and ready to embrace every opportunity that life may throw at you to “just wanna have fun.” Cyndi Lauper is a great role model for girls of any age.
