Raleigh NC's rising indie talent, The Annelle Staal Trio, made a sold-out debut performance in the summer of 2025. Front person Annelle Staal—a multi-disciplined artist, natural poet and exuberant performer with an international following through their dynamic online shows—hosts the music with humor, vulnerability, and a vocal consistently described as “silk.” Guitarist, artist and producer Ben Youngblood (Frost School of Music) is decorated by a rich background in gospel, Americana and blues, with which he lends the Trio sensitive, exciting compositions and a relentless sense musical adventure. Bassist, clarinetist and fellow Frost alumnus ‘X’ plays with the precision of math rock, the grit of metal, and the chime modern folk.
