There quite simply just aren’t enough bands out there like Elephant Stone, who have such a distinct sound. They are the brain child of Rishi Dhir, a talented multi instrumentalist who knows exactly what he is doing when it comes to making a brand of music that is very much a crossover between traditional Indian classical music, mixed with some indie rock tendencies. He has been quoted to be the pioneer of a sound with the perfect pop song and the trippiest raga. The songs that he has written have received such a fantastic amount of critical acclaim over the last few years. He performs them with such an impressive display of musicality this evening. “Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin” is probably one of the biggest highlights for this audience this evening as they join in with these well written choruses that could make anyone in the world sing along, whilst feeling completely as thought they’re on a bit of a trip. When this sound is played live, it is so whimsical and interesting to listen to, that it is no wonder why Elephant Stone have earned themselves such a loyal following.
