Eric Scott Reed and Rene Marie

With the release of "Sound of Red" I knew Rene would be back out on tour and was thrilled when ticketing was announced for a return to Easton, Maryland. I know the venue at the Academy of Art and was delighted to be able to get a ticket in that small space.

Rene was in top form - feeding off the fact that she and the band were performing in the midst of the crowd. She was engaging, funny, honest and touching - which is so much who she is.

The band was/is amazing: John Chin on piano simply blew the audience away, as did Elias Bailey on bass and Quentin Baxter on drums. The four of the operated like extensions of a greater whole - playfully, wistfully, and in total single minded concentration. They played songs from the new album, which include some older music, all written by Rene and freshly rendered. Such a great night!
