The R&B group consist of four guys, interestingly the lead singers are identical twins Brandon and Brian Casey, together with Kyle Norman and Richard Wingo. They all have nicknames however and prefer to be called by them, the creative four are-"Brasco" (Brian), "Case Dinero" (Brandon), "Quick" (Kyle) and "Wingo Dollars" (Richard).
Jagged Edge smashed their music career in 1997 releasing their single "The Way That You Talk" which they then followed successfully with the album. "I Gotta Be", a single on the album, which was written together by the Casey twins, reached an impressive number 11 on the R&B charts in America.
Further success was achieved in 2000, making a breakthrough, when the stylish boy band released their album " J.E. Heartbreak". Jagged Edge were could not believe their luck when the album went double platinum, with their hit single "Let's Get Married" reaching new heights in the R&B charts and impressively reaching number 11 in America's 'Hot 100' chart.
The talented twins, Brandon and Brian, have also written material for highly successful R&B artists Usher, Nivea and Toni Braxton.
Jagged Edge have been nominated at the American Music Awards for Favorite R&B/Soul Band, Duo or Group three times. Furthermore, they were nominated for Best Group and Best Male Group at the BET Awards. They have also been nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for their single "Where the Party At" at the Grammy Awards. Finally they won two awards in 2001 at the Soul Train Awards for Best R&B/Soul Album by a Band, Duo or Group for singles, " J.E. Heartbreak " and "Let's Get Married".
Sometimes, you’ll come across an artist with a name that is really a complete misnomer; The Tallest Man on Earth, for example, is really not even close to challenging for that title, whilst the members of Sonic Youth, were they British, would be pretty close to being eligible for a free bus pass by now. The same applies to Jagged Edge, which is a moniker completely unbefitting one of the smoothest groups in recent history. With the best part of twenty years’ experience under their belts, the Edge’s classic blend of R&B and soul genuinely crossed over into the mainstream in the late nineties and early noughties, with J.E. Heartbreak and Jagged Little Thrill, released in 2000 and 2001 respectively, both going platinum. In the years since, their commercial success has undeniably been on the wane, but they’ve ploughed ahead with making new records anyway, including 2007’s fabulously-titled Baby Makin’ Project and their most recent effort, The Remedy, which dropped in 2011. They continue to tour, too, with their most recent jaunt of the UK - a co-headline with 112 - seeing them play career-spanning sets to packed rooms last October. They’re frequent visitors to the UK, so expect them back soon, even as they continue to ready their next record.
I’m glad I got to witness B2K together for the first time my teenage girl life was so lit I was screaming so loud they will always have my heart I’ve been a fan of theirs for a very long time
